Ministry of Agriculture confirmed on Tuesday that Thai vegetables with E. coli bacteria is not in Europe, of which 22 people died, leaving a still contaminated.
Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture Jirakorn Kosaisevi that stringent measures have been used to check the microbial and vegetable pests, before export. Therefore, he expressed confidence that Thailand's crop is free from E. coli.
Jirakorn vegetables can be added, as usual, but, good manufacturing practice (GMP) farming systems across the country will be reviewed to ensure the safety of Thailand's export of vegetables.
Director-General pointed out that thousands of people in Europe have been infected with EHEC (Escherichia coli) bacteria, because they do not usually eat cooked fresh vegetables and salads.
