U.S. woos Chinese tourists

With China's remarkable economic growth in recent decades, businesses worldwide are sensing tremendous opportunities in the largely untapped Chinese market. Tourist organizations in the United States are making their bid to attract Chinese travellers as well.
The International Pow Wow, the biggest international tourism trade fair, concluded Tuesday in the United States. This year, American exhibitors are doing their best to woo potential customers worldwide.
But a lot of local governments, tourism agencies and businesses are specifically targeting their products to the Chinese tourists.
American businesses are pulling all kinds of tricks to win the hearts of the Chinese. Many exhibitors have even printed out pamphlets written in Chinese.
California's tourism bureau has an ace up its sleeve... an employee with a Chinese background.
Yang Hao, Tourism Exhibition Bureau of California, US said "I am the busiest person in all of the overseas offices at my bureau. Sometimes I even have to skip lunch for work. "
All the attention to Chinese tourists, is due to their increased purchasing power.
The number of Chinese travellers to the US in 2010 was close to one million. Those tourists spent an average 7200 dollars during their stay, almost double the 4000 dollar global average.
With increasing disposable income, the Chinese demand for travel is only going to grow.
Worldwide, exchanges with China in such fields as commerce, education and technology are ever-increasing.
And tourism is among the biggest money spinners.
