7 NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Continued militancy claimed the lives of seven soldiers with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) on Thursday, the alliance said in a statement released here.
"Seven International Security Assistance Force service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan today," the statement added.
However, it did not identify the nationalities of the victims, saying it is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.
Troops mostly from U.S., Britain, Canada and Australia have been deployed in the troubled southern region where Taliban militants are active.
More than 190 NATO-led soldiers with majority of them Americans have been in Afghanistan since beginning this year.
