30 years, mankind has been trying to resist HIV

The AIDS epidemic has plagued the human being for practically 30 years and also the efforts of fighting against it have by no means stopped.

The very first case of AIDS was diagnosed by the U. S. Centers for Illness Control on June five, 1981, and what began as a fatal new pandemic then has become a treatable chronic illness.

The pandemic is still powerful, but the news is acquiring much more positive. Nowadays infection can be prevented as well as the virus, immune program as well as the host-pathogen interaction are increasingly well understood.

Despite the fact that a cure remains out of reach, the disease may be treated. Moreover, although a lot of people still die because of the virus, HIV is no longer a death sentence anymore.

That's a triumph by any measure, but the epidemic is still killing individuals, and men and women are not paying sufficient attention.

According to a recent United Nations report, AIDS has claimed a lot more than 25 million lives and a lot more than 60 million individuals have been infected by HIV.

AIDS Community Resources of the United States revealed that youth are engaging in random unprotected sex with several partners and that there's a general lack of awareness about HIV and sexually transmitted diseases within the community.

"There's a myth on the market that AIDS has a cure, that you'll be able to take a pill to treat HIV and there are no consequences," said Michael Crinnin, executive director of AIDS Community Resources. "There is no cure. You can find consequences."
