Partizan wins fourth straight Serbian soccer title

For the fourth year in a row, Belgrade Partizan on Wednesday claimed the championship of the Serbian domestic soccer league after drawing 1-1 against Metalac from the central Serbian town of Gornji Milanovac.
The celebrated "black and white" squad only needed a single point to win the title, as they were six points ahead of their closest rivals, famed Red Star, also from Belgrade.
Matches leading up to this final were not without controversy. Red Star president publicly denounced his players, fining them and threatening to fire others, for their poor performance.
In the Serbia Cup final played on May 11 between Partizan and Vojvodina, the coach of Vojvodina ordered his players off the pitch in protest in the 82th minute, disputing a referee's decision not to award them a penalty kick. Partizan, leading 2-1 at the time, were ruled the winner.
