April jobless rate down in France

France's unemployment rate inched down by 0.4 percent in April from a month earlier, official data showed on Wednesday.
According to Labor Ministry figures, France reported around 2. 67 million of job seekers at the end of April in France's mainland, or less 10,900 compared to March data.
However, on year-on-year basis, the April rate rose by 0.2 percent.
"Unemployment rate falls for the fourth consecutive month in April. This is good news. We had not known that since the beginning of 2008, before the crisis," Xavier Bertrand, French labor minister told RTL radio.
"We see that we 're drawing the end of the crisis which everyone is waiting for," he added.
France says to allocate 500 million euros (704.38 million U.S. dollars) to create more job opportunities to a growing slice of jobless people in the 65 million population. It eyes to ease the unemployment rate to 9 percent this year compared to 9.3 percent last year on expected economic recovery.
