Euro-Arab Scout Meeting starts in Algeria

The Euro-Arab Scout Meeting started its 9th session on Wednesday in Algiers, the capital of Algeria, with the participation of 26 countries and several international organizations, Algerian official APS news agency reported.
The meeting, hosted by the Algerian Islamic Scout, is expected to discuss dialogue on civilizations and religions and rapprochement between cultures, as well as the role of the benevolence and intervention of scouts in natural disasters.
Several workshops have been scheduled to discuss issues such as methods of boosting the Euro-Arab scout partnership, social development programs, achieving the goals of the millennium, children's rights and the protection of youths from social plagues.
The participants are expected to share their experiences in terms of taking care of youths and integrating this issue into the social life.
The meeting coincides with the 70th anniversary of the death of the founder of the Algerian Islamic Scout, martyr Mohamed Bouras.
Several countries are taking part in the forum, including Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Mauritania, Britain, Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Greece and Switzerland.
