India, Africa urge political solution for Libya crisis

 India and Africa on Wednesday called for an end to the Libyan crisis through political solution with peaceful means and dialogue.

"We call for an immediate cessation of all hostilities in Libya and urge the parties in the conflict to strive towards a political solution through peaceful means and dialogue," read a joint declaration issued at the 2nd Africa-India Forum Summit in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.

The Addis Ababa Declaration said India and Africa take note of the UN Security Council resolutions 1970 and 1973 on Libya and stress that efforts to implement them should be within the spirit and letter of those resolutions.

"We express support for the African Union High-Level Ad Hoc Committee initiative and the African Union Roadmap for the peaceful and consensual resolution of the conflict, " the declaration said.
