The operator of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant says they will investigate a possible radioactive water leak.
The Tokyo Electric Power Company has been pumping enough water into the reactors at the plant every week. But it has created a new problem since the plant was not set up to store huge pools of water. About 60 tons of radioactive water is at risk of having leaked from the building. But TEPCO says there is no evidence showing leaks of radioactive water into the ground.
Junichi Matsumoto, TEPCO General Manager, said, "As for the underground water supply we have been monitoring it for radiation and have not detected any iodine or cesium. So we don't believe at this point that there has been a leak into the ground."
