Chinese scientists mapping the genome of E. coli

Chinese scientists have completely sequenced the genome of the new E. coli spread throughout Europe. They announced on Saturday that they have found it anti-bacterial antibiotic eight genes.

And the Beijing Genomics Institute, is the world's largest DNA Sequencing Center researchers found that in 0104 the newly discovered E. coli bacteria, antibiotic resistance, including the major categories of sulfonamides, cephalosporins, penicillin, streptomycin genetic strains .

Barclays Global Investors in Shenzhen, said the major research institutions, which helps explain why European doctors have been in the fighting killed at least 19 people, so that the difficult problem of more than 1,700 ill.

Barclays Global Investors, said the discovery will help doctors choose the right treatment.

The researchers obtained the cooperation of Chinese and German scientists, the DNA samples of bacteria, and fully sequenced genome of a three-day week.

They are developing a diagnostic kit, which will be used for detection of bacteria and prevent further spread of the epidemic.

Cui Yuan, researcher at Barclays Global Investors, Hua Daji Genome Research Institute in Shenzhen, said: "We have found the genes of bacteria close to Africa in 2002, some of the bacteria separated by AIDS patients.

For us, the next step is to develop a diagnostic kit as soon as possible. If we can develop a kit, we can monitor the surrounding environment, and those tortured. This may help curb the spread of germs. "

E. coli attacks the kidneys, can lead to seizures, stroke and coma, mainly in the cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce found.

Some countries have banned the vegetable from Germany and Spain import the E. coli outbreak.

In the latest move, Qatar has banned the vegetable from Germany and Spain imports.
