Bahrain banned from European countries, vegetables following the outbreak of E. coli

 Industry and the Bahrain Ministry of Commerce issued the decision on Sunday to ban from the European countries of Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark imported vegetables. 

The following decision by the Ministry of the outbreak of E. coli infection, according to reports, more than 1,700 people in 12 European countries, at least 19 people have died. 

"Although the Kingdom is a limit imports from these countries, the ban will not affect the local market," the ministry said in a statement. 

It also recommends that children and the elderly to be more careful, because the bacteria can cause severe abdominal pain, blood and a sharp rise in temperature accompanied by diarrhea. 

Consumer Protection Bureau in the Ministry has issued regulations, consumers epidemic prevention program guidelines.This includes hand washing, disinfection, cooking utensils, washing fruits and aquatic vegetabes loose. 

Kuwait, UAE and Qatar, has already stated that all food imports from European countries should have a health certificate vegetable trade restrictions. 

April 26, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce issued a decision in Bahrain International Airport and Mina Salman ban food imports from Japan, officials in charge of the port. This is the entry into account the risk of radioactive contamination, resulting from a nuclear reactor in Fukushima.
