Nigerian presidential Sworn in

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday assured the country's citizens that the transformative agenda of his new administration would bring hope to the hopeless, strength to the weak and protection to the defenseless.

The president said this in his speech right after swearing to the oath of office and oath of allegiance as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Abuja.

The president said his inauguration marked the beginning of a new dawn for the country, noting that he was committed to enhancing the living regular of the men and women.

"Today our unity is firm and our purpose is powerful; our determination is unshakeable; together we'll unite our nation and enhance the living standard of all our folks, regardless of whether in the north or within the south within the east or in the west," he stated.

"Our decade of development has begun. The march is on. The day of transformation begins nowadays; we won't allow anybody exploit differences in creed or tongue to set us one against one more," he added.

The president said his leadership would be decidedly transformative along with the transformation could be achieved in all the vital sectors.

He stated government would harness the creative energies of the individuals to grow the economy, develop jobs and create enduring happiness for the men and women.

"We have excellent confidence inside the ability of Nigerians to transform this country; the urgent job of my administration would be to provide a suitable environment for productive activities to flourish," he stated.

"I, as a result, call on the excellent men and women of Nigeria to enlist as agents of this wonderful transformation," he added.

President Jonathan charged all elected political officers, particularly the state governors, to join the transformative train and forge a united Nigeria built on justice, opportunities and abundance.

The Nigerian leader said government could not afford to fail Nigerians inside the realization of their vision of maintaining the lead in the comity of nations.

"In the days ahead, those of us who're elected to serve ought to show that we're men and women of patriotism and passion," he added.

"We must demonstrate the leadership, statesmanship and vision, capacity and sacrifice to transform our nation," he stated.

The president stated the creation of the Nigeria Sovereign Wealth Investment Authority would contribute in no tiny measure to the nation's fiscal responsibility.

He stated the authority would institutionalize savings of Nigeria' s commodity related revenues and mitigate negative exposure to oil price volatility.
