Nigerian president calls for support to transform agenda

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has solicited the assistance of all citizens at property and within the diaspora in his agenda of transforming Nigeria within the next 4 years.

President Jonathan created the call on Saturday at the presidential inauguration banquet held at the banquet hall from the presidential villa, Abuja.

The president mentioned the process of nation constructing could only be made possible by collective efforts of every single Nigerian.

"All hands must be on deck to develop a nation of peace and progress that was the dream of our forefathers," he added.

"To develop such a nation, we shall usually seek the wisdom of our elders and honor them with respect," he mentioned.

"A new Nigerian nation beckons and with each other we are able to make it," the Nigerian leader told his audience.

According to him, Nigerians gave him a rare possibility to rule the nation, saying he couldn't afford to fail them.

The president mentioned his election is a new dawn, a new starting of bright hopes and constructive change.

He maintained that with commitment, determination and hardwork, the nation would take its rightful spot because the giant of Africa.

The president thanked Nigerians for voting for him in the common elections that had been adjudged totally free, fair and credible.

President Jonathan eulogized the late former president, Umaru Yar 'Adua, for his selfless service towards the nation, noting that Nigerians would forever try to remember him with pride.
