More than 100 taking part in marathon on Qomolangma

 Far more than 100 runners from worldwide took element in a marathon held Sunday morning on the south slope of Mount Qomolangma, the world's highest peak, occasion manager Ram Thapa confirmed to Xinhua more than telephone.

The 42,195-meter race started from close to the renowned Khumbu Ice Fall at Qomolangma Base Camp (5,364 meters above sea level) along with the finish is set at Namche Bazar (3,440 meters above sea level).

The adventure was organized by Himalayan Expedition of Nepal to commemorate the historical ascent by late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary on May possibly 29, 1953. May 29 is observed as "International Qomolangma Day".
