Indian Congress attacks BJP over corruption in Karnataka

The Indian Congress party Sunday attacked the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over their leader Sushma Swaraj washing her hands off induction of mining czars, Reddy brothers, of Karnataka as ministers.

"The Neros of Bharatiya Janata Party fiddle in New Delhi though Karnataka burns," Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters right here.

The Reddy brothers are involved in numerous criminal instances in Bellary in Karnataka.

"Sushma Swaraj's assertions as soon as again underscore the fundamental reality of BJP that funds talks and Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa and Reddy brothers walk," he stated.

"While Karnataka burns with corruption, the Neros of BJP fiddle in Delhi. It will not call for any imagination to search out out from where the fiddle came. It undoubtedly came from Karnataka exactly where the Bellary brothers rule," he added in reference to the historical story of Roman Emperor Nero playing harp even though Rome burnt.

Meanwhile, Swaraj has maintained that the selection to provide cabinet berths to Janardhan and Karunakar Reddy was taken by BJP leader Arun Jaitley, in his capability as Karnataka party in-charge, and senior leaders M. Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar.

She maintained that she had not acted as the protector from the Reddy brothers and had "no role within the political making" with the mining barons.

She emphasized that she was opposed to 3 members of a household obtaining berths within the cabinet.

The third Reddy brother Somashekhar features a ministerial status.
