Bombings hit N Nigerian town soon after presidential inauguration

Bombing blasts shook the northern Nigerian town of Bauchi on Sunday, hrs just after President Goodluck Jonathan was sworn in, leaving a distinct range of casualties, authorities stated.

Yushau Shuaib, a government spokesman told reporters that most victims were hospitalized although the dead bodies were removed from the scene, that is a marketplace situated at a military barracks. But he didn't give distinct amount with the casualties. Authorities have taken actions to "contain the circumstance," he added.

Other media reports said there had been as mush as 10 deaths and several injuries.

Nigeria has been rocked by a series of deadly bombings lately and authorities blamed the anti-government group Boko Haram for the attacks.

Jonathan on Sunday began his initial complete term as president. He took more than power in May well 2010 just after the death of then president Umaru Yar'Auda.
