Railway linking Jordan, Iraq to become installed

Jordan and Iraq on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding to execute a project to install a railway linking the two nations, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The memo, signed by Jordan's Transport Minister Muhannad Qudah and his Iraqi counterpart Hadi Al Ameri, aims to enhance the flow of passengers and commodities among the two countries.

The railway, Qudah mentioned, will link the southern city of Aqaba with Baghdad, adding that styles and studies for the project are ready.

The two sides also agreed to kind a committee to identify the stops for the railway, stated Qudah, stressing the significance with the project.

The Iraqi minister mentioned the project is very important for the two nations along with the trade in between them.
