Three Gorges reservoir water release for drought

Water has been released from the 3 Gorges reservoir to assist with China's worst drought in 50 years.

35 million men and women have been affected by the massive thirst, in accordance with China's Ministry of Civil Affairs. four million of that can't access secure drinking water.

Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces have suffered essentially the most as a result of the lack of rain.

So far, nearly 19 billion cubic meters of water has been drained from the reservoir in a bid to quench demand, substantially lowering water levels.
