14-year-old girl of Indian origin obtained Spelling Champion

In the 84th Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington Township, Pennsylvania Nana Bin 14-year-old girl Sukanya Roy won the championship.

Roy won the championship by virtue of the word spell cymotrichous, the word means curls.

She received more than $ 40,000 in cash and prizes.

12-year-old girl from Toronto, runner-up Laura Newcombe. She always wanted to be the first Canadian to win the game.

Sukanya Roy is the fourth in a row and ninth in 13 years to win the competition of Indian-Americans. The game more than 3 hours long, were broadcast live nationwide.
