Mourinho had not addressed the press since being handed a five-game ban by UEFA for implying that the organization had helped FC Barcelona win the Champions League title in 2006 and 2009, local media reported Friday.

On Wednesday he finally broke his silence on radio station Cadena Ser, although he did complain about the UEFA sanction.

"It has been over a month and I still don't know why I have been suspended...I think I should at least have the right to defend myself, I am going to go as far as I can to do that," said Mourinho.

The coach took Real Madrid to second place in the BBVA Primera Liga and the semi-finals of the Champions League and saw his side win the Copa del Rey. When asked whether his second season in charge would be better, Mourinho was guarded in his reply.

"My second season was better when I coached Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan, but it doesn't mean it will be this time. It is not easy to improve on what we have done, to do that we would have to win the League, reach the final of the Champions League and win the Copa del Rey again," he said.

Mourinho also spoke about Atletico Madrid, Sergio 'Kun' Aguero, who has said that he wants to leave the Vicente Calderon Stadium. Real Madrid looks to be a possible destination, and although such a move would destroy relations between Real and Atletico, Mourinho didn' t hide his admiration for the 22-year-old Argentinean.

"Kun is a fantastic player and we can't be scared about saying that, however, he is an Atletico Madrid player and Real Madrid don't talk to players before first of all having reached agreements first with their clubs," he said, before adding that Real Madrid had no plans to sell either Gonzalo Higuain or Karim Benzema.

Finally Mourinho admitted that Madrid were keen on turning the loan deal of Manchester City forward Emanuel Adebayor into a permanent move.

"We are negotiating and the player wants to continue here. He is important," said the Real Madrid coach.
