One NATO soldier killed in Afghanistan

One NATO soldier killed in the volatile southern Afghanistan, militant attacks on Friday and Saturday confirmed that the military alliance.

"International Security Assistance Force soldiers were killed yesterday following a rebel attack in southern Afghanistan, " said the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in a statement here.

However, the brief statement did not disclose the nationality of the victims, saying it is the policy of the International Security Assistance Force casualties identification procedures to defer to the relevant national authorities.

Forces mainly from the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia already stationed in the framework of the International Security Assistance Force fighting the Taliban insurgents in the southern region.

220 NATO soldiers, most of them Americans, were killed in total in Afghanistan, starting this year.
