The outbreak of E. coli in Europe has now claimed 17 lives

The outbreak of E. coli in Europe has now claimed 17 lives, with more than 350 new cases reported in Germany. The Czech Republic has confirmed one case of infection, and the Netherlands, five confirmed cases and 4 suspected cases.
On Wednesday, German officials visited a hospital in Hamburg where more than 20 patients are being treated for a potentially deadly strain of the disease.
German authorities say the number of E-coli cases is a third bigger than previously thought. They also deny the German warning against Spanish produce was premature.
