Killing of 40 Algerian soldiers has direct connection with chaos in Libya: PM

Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia stated Sunday that the killing of 40 soldiers in clashes with armed groups in the nation is resulting from the spread of Libyan arms in the African Sahel region.

Ouyahia told a news conference right here that the unrest in Libya has led to the spread of weapons amongst "terrorist groups," adding that the killing of 40 Algerian soldiers in the past handful of weeks features a direct connection together with the spread of arms within the region.

Ouyahia also known as for the "immediate cease-fire in Libya."

Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci has earlier expressed issues that violence in Libya may have negative effect on Algeria's counterterrorism activities.
