Libyan opposition chief stresses Gaddafi need to go

 Libyan opposition leader Mustafa Abdul Jalil told Xinhua on Sunday in an interview the departure of Libyan leader Gaddafi will be the only way out of Libya's crisis and the opposition wouldn't hold any talks with the embattled strongman.

"The only situation for holding talks of resolving the crisis is that Gaddafi, his inner circle and his family have no future in the political arena of Libya and they ought to leave," Jalil, Chairman of the National Transitional Council (NTC) based in Benghazi mentioned, adding "We only welcome the proposition concerning the ceasefire and peace settlement based on this situation."

Jalil's remarks came a single day prior to the expected visit by South African President Jacob Zuma to Libyan capital Tripoli on Monday. It was however to understand whether or not Gaddafi's departure will be discussed.

The opposition rejected the initial African Union peace strategy led by Zuma in April because it didn't address the rebels' primary demand that Gaddafi quit.

The NTC, formed 100 days ago, is seeing political, military and diplomatic progress with intensified NATO air strikes against Gaddafi forces and an rising quantity of nations taking into account to give it political support and financial aids.
