Taliban attack kills NATO soldier in Afghanistan

An attack launched by Taliban claimed the life of a soldier with NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan on Friday, bringing the alliance casualties to nine since Thursday, the military alliance said in a press release issued here.
"An International Security Assistance Force service member died following an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan today," the press release added.
However, it did not identify the nationality of the victim, saying it is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.
Eight more NATO soldiers, all Americans were killed in Afghanistan's troubled southern region on Thursday.
More than 190 NATO-led soldiers with 140 of them Americans have been killed so far this year in the conflict-ridden Afghanistan.
