Warning issued as Typhoon Songda approaches South China Sea

China is warning ships and fishing-boats in the East China Sea to take precautions as Typhoon Songda is expected to hit the area Friday night.
The National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center said the typhoon has generated winds of up to 205 kilometers per hour. It will be the second typhoon to cause havoc in the sea this year.
The center forecasts "very rough" seas Friday night and Saturday off Taiwan, the Bashi Channel and southeastern Fujian Province.
