French coach Blanc calls uncapped Martin for Euro cup qualifier

French coach Laurent Blanc has picked the untried mild fielder Marvin Martin, in the 26-man squad for the Euro Cup qualifier against Belarus next month, French Football Federation (FFF) said on Thursday.

The 22-year-old player at France's top league soccer club Sochaux was elected best passer in the country's championship this season.

Spain-based veteran defender Eric Abidal was called to join the squad after undergoing a surgery on liver tumor, while Lyon player Yoann Gourcuff will miss games scheduled in June due to injury.

Les Bleus (the France national football team) will face Belarus in Minsk on June 3 for the Euro Cup's qualifiers. They will play Ukraine and Poland in friendly matches scheduled on June 6 and 9 respectively.
