UEFA postponed the deadline for payment for tickets for Euro 2012 soccer matches from May 25 to June 20, Euro 2012 Poland company spokesperson Juliusz Gluski said on Thursday.
The draw was held in April. A computer installed at UEFA seat in Nyon, under the supervision of a notary, randomly selected fans who can buy tickets for Euro 2012 soccer matches out of 12,149,425 applications from 206 countries.
Fans have been entitled to 41 percent or 575,000 tickets of the total pool of 1.4 million. Thirty two percent of tickets were conveyed to national federations, sponsors, UEFA guests and business package purchasers. Tickets cost from EUR 30 to 600 depending on the category and the importance of the match.
Fans will have still an additional chance to buy tickets from a pool of 32 percent admission cards at the disposal of the national football federations. Tickets owned by the Polish Football Association (PZPN) will be sold via the Internet at a later date.
The Euro 2012 soccer championship, to be hosted by Poland and Ukraine from June 8 to July 1, 2012, will take place in four Polish cities of Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan as well as four Ukrainian cities of Kiev, Lvov, Donetsk and Kharkov.
