Nearby residents heard loud explosions cease-fire zone in Yemen

Two-hour heavy gunshots mixed having a series of loud explosions rocked the cease-fire region in downtown the Yemeni capital Sanaa late on Sunday, residents mentioned Monday.

The shoot-out took place close to Hassaba district, just hrs following armed tribesmen of opposition tribal leader Sadiq al-Ahmar handed more than the Ministry of Regional Administrative to a mediation committee according to a cease-fire deal to end the five-day street battles.

Al-Ahmar later on Sunday has stipulated the withdrawal of government forces from around his residence to be able to hand more than the rest with the government creating seized by his armed tribesmen.

Several of the residents stated the explosions took location close to the house of al-Ahmar, who sided with all the four-month-long protests demanding an immediate end towards the 33-year rule of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
