Test launcher cut in Hong Kong

Environment Bureau of Hong Kong and the franchised bus companies to be carried out selective catalytic reduction unit of the euro bus retrofitting the second and third trial of reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions, local environmental officials say here today.

Acting Secretary for the Environment, Dr Kitty Poon Hong Kong told local legislators Wednesday's trial will begin in the third quarter. Preliminary results will be analyzed in six months to study the EU's second and third buses installed with a large-scale equipment is feasible.

She said that this device is effective in reducing nitrogen oxides, and has been applied to the Euro IV and Euro V diesel commercial vehicles.

According to preliminary information provided by suppliers, she said, a large-scale renovation cost is about 15 million Hong Kong dollars per vehicle (about nineteen thousand two hundred eighty-three U.S. dollars).
