Large quantities of drugs seized in Turkey

Turkish security forces and police on Tuesday seized a large number of drugs in southeastern Turkey, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.

Turkish security forces seized 182 kilograms of cannabis, 6.6 kilograms of heroin in four separate operations in the province of Gaziantep in southeastern Turkey said that the report said, adding that seven people were arrested during the operation, they are suspected of involvement in illicit drug trafficking .

In a separate operation, Turkish police intercepted a car, to seize the southeastern province of 17.6 ng Sher kg of heroin, the report said, six people were arrested on charges of illicit drug trafficking.

Turkey is one from drug smuggling in Asia and the Middle East to Western Europe's major transit corridors.
