Center for Food Safety of Hong Kong urged the industry to stop using, 23 fruit syrup, fruit juice, which is kind of sale of Taiwan and may be contaminated (2-ethylhexyl) ester (DEHP) plasticizer.

A spokesman for the center said on Tuesday that the center received the latest notification from Taiwan, on 23 kinds of products, goods have been distributed to Hong Kong.

"Centre has been in contact with the importer after 12 such projects, and noted that it had suspended its sales, and began a product recall. The center learned that the 12 projects, including food ingredients for supply to restaurants only. "

The spokesman added that the center will continue to pursue the remaining 11 kinds of fruit and fruit juice syrups and other importers to take follow up action accordingly.
