Seventy-seven military personnel were taken to hospital after lightning struck a military training base in southern Mississippi, according to media reports Wednesday.

"Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center is the Air Force sent 77 young people in the medical evaluation of the local hospital Hattiesburg area," the U.S. military said in a statement.
