3 people were killed in Gaza explosion

3 Palestinians were killed and eight others wounded on Tuesday in an explosion inside a training base for a militant group inside the Gaza Strip, witnesses and security sources said.

The factors that caused the blast had been not immediately known, but the security sources suggested it was not a result of Israeli attack, given the relative calmness that has prevailed for weeks here.

The casualties had been taken to Abu Yousef Al-Najjar hospital inside the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah.

The base is run by the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, an armed group loyal to Gaza's Hamas rulers.
