The joint statement was signed after the talks between the two presidents, in the course of which the two presidents exchanged views on a number of common problems, specifically the economic and trade issues.
Medvedev stated he believes the Russian-Mongolian trade volume really should not just rely on petroleum goods, calling on diversification of bilateral trade.
"We are interested in trade turnover diversification. We will need new effective projects like nuclear projects or Tavan-Tolgoi (coal deposit), which will promote bilateral cooperation," Medvedev said.
The two sides also discussed progresses of many joint projects.
Soon after the meeting, the presidents also attended signing ceremony of other four documents on bilateral cooperation and ties.
