Saudi Arabia to limit work permits foreign nationality to Six years

 Saudi Arabia will soon bar foreigners who have lived inside the kingdom for six years from renewing their work permits, the Saudi every day Al-Watan reported Monday.

The decision is going to be component of ten programs the Saudi government is planning to implement in a bid to regulate the nearby labor market, stated Saudi Labor Minister Adel Fakeih.

Organizations will be given five months right after the implementation of the labor reforms program to adjust their position, the minister added.

The reforms will aim at boosting employment opportunities for Saudis and growing their competitive edge, he stated.

The ministry would go ahead with the program and that there could be no leniency in its application, he said.

According to the most recent figures, you will find eight million expatriates living in Saudi Arabia, with six million of them working inside the private sector.

Saudi Arabia's official figures put the country's unemployment rate at 10.five percent, although according to the unofficial figures, joblessness stands around 20 percent.
