Iran to issue $2.2bn electricity bonds

Iran's Energy Minister Majid Namjou stated that Iran plans to problem far more than two billion U.S. dollars in bonds to finance its power plant projects for creating much more electrical energy in the near long term, the English language satellite Press Television reported on Monday.

"The cabinet has agreed with the issuance of far more than 2.2 billion U.S. dollars in bonds for financing the country's power plant projects," Namjou was quoted as saying.

Iran has the capability to turn into a regional exporter of electricity, mentioned Namjou.

Last week, Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereidoon Abbasi mentioned the Bushehr nuclear energy plant would join the national grid soon.
