Perez, Patriotic Party candidate, received 38.8 votes, while his opponent Sandra Torres ruling National Unity Party of hope and 17.5 as a percentage of votes came in second place, the survey said on Monday.
However, the two major candidates support the slide slightly compared to a poll a month earlier, said by Borges Ÿ Asociados consultancy survey. Perez and Torres took part in the vote, respectively, in May, 42.5 percent and 21 percent of the vote.
Perez, a 61-year-old former general, has pledged a hard line crime and violence in the country. He lost a slight gap between the incumbent President Alvaro Colom 2007 presidential election.
In the survey, which is published in the local newspaper Periodico Guatemala, interviewed more than 1,000 people and has about 3.1% error.
