Iconic teen drama "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" walked away from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ceremony as the top winner, garnering five awards including the best movie.
This is the third years in a row that an installment of the classic romantic vampire franchise, based on Stephenie Meyer's 2007 novel, beat out Oscar-winner "Black Swan," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I," "The Social Network" and "Inception" to win the award for best movie.
It also took the Best Male Performance award for Robert Pattinson, Best Female Performance for Kristen Stewart, Best Fight and Best Kiss for Pattinson and Stewart.
"I really didn't think I was going to win," said Pattinson. "This is kind of embarrassing now. Zac Efron was crying and stuff in that clip...Thanks for showing all your support to the movies. See you next year!"
Kristen Stewart, who played the sweet heart of Pattinson, said when receiving the Best Female Performance: "Oh, man, this is silly. It feels very incredible to be so completely supported by everybody that voted for me, it actually really, truly does. Thank you. We have obviously the greatest fans ever."
She thwarted the Emmas (Stone and Watson), Jennifer Aniston and "Black Swan" star Natalie Portman to garner the honor.
Actress Reese Witherspoon walked away with the MTV Generation Award, an equivalent to lifetime achievement award of other awarding events handed out in honor of an iconic actor with remarkable career.
"I'm just so lucky in my career and my life," said Witherspoon. "I just want to say to all the girls out there: I know it's cool to be bad, I get it ... but it's also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show ... so for all the girls out there, it's possible to be a good girl."
The 35-year-old actress, who shot to the stardom in 2001 when she played the title role, a boundary-defying blonde bombshell Elle Woods in the box-office hit "Legally Blonde," was the second female ever to received the honor. Ben Stiller, Jim Carrey, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and Sandra Bullock were among the starry names on the list of past winners.
The 20th annual MTV Movie Awards, which is a slightly off-the-wall event featuring such categories as best kiss and best movie line, were presented at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City in a ceremony hosted by "Saturday Night Live" cast member Jason Sudeikis.
