Italian scientists have discovered fossils of manatee extinction in the Philippine Sea

Italian scientists found the skeleton in the Philippines, ten thousand years ago, the extinction of species living in the manatee is about 20, a media report said Tuesday.

Several ribs and spine parts of marine mammals found in a limestone area than the island of Palawan underground river rock earlier this year, geologists Piccini University of Florence declared the presidential palace on Monday held talks in the Philippines Association.

Piccini said the fossils in the rock, they want to wait when the technology will enable them to learn without extracting its fossils.

He said that this is a rare find from the Miocene era region - 20 million years ago.

"This is the first time in this region is still an animal, so it is in the reconstruction of the Habitat and animals in the spread of this important Miocene," he said.

It believed that the fossils belong to two sea cow, of which about 1.8 meters long extinct species.

Two species of sea cows live to this day, including the Indian Pacific dugong.
