Studies have shown that high levels of leptin hormone and reduce depression

 Women who have higher levels of appetite control hormone leptin to reduce symptoms of depression, the apparent inverse relationship is not related to body mass index (BMI), a new study found. The study was presented Monday at the Endocrine Society 93rd Annual Meeting in Boston, USA.

She and her colleagues studied 64 women with leptin levels and anxiety and depression relationship. Fifth of women have anorexia nervosa, 12 were of normal weight hypothalamic amenorrhea, 20 normal weight and health, 17 were overweight or obese, but still healthy.

 

All subjects were asked questions to assess their symptoms that indicate that high scores of depression and anxiety symptoms. In addition to measuring blood levels of leptin, the researchers assessed the women's body mass index, height and weight measurements.
