27 Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan

An Australian soldier has been shot and was killed in action in Afghanistan, the militants of the Special Forces, Defense Agency chief Angus Houston confirmed on Tuesday.

Combat engineer, who was born in New South Wales in Australia and single, is the 27th Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan since 2001, a quarter in the past two weeks.

The incident occurred in a Joint Special Operations Working Group (SOTG) and Afghan National Army patrol, destroying a major rebel ammunition supply dump on Monday night.

In a statement, said the 23-year-old Houston soldier, combat engineers from the emergency response group, and then by helicopter to medical facilities in Tarin Kowt in the evacuation of the scene. But he died of his wound.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard said the U.S. commitment to working with an Afghan soldier died in two weeks, the fourth test.

Air Force General in Houston, also said that death is the fourth time in two weeks, "Without a doubt, this is a Let us all very difficult time. " He reminded the public that the fighting in Afghanistan expect more losses the season.

On Monday, a ramp ceremony in Melbourne last week in Afghanistan killed two Australian soldiers.
